American Friends of the Heschel Center, Inc.
Welcome. The American Friends of the
Heschel Center (AmHeschel) is dedicated
to supporting the work of the Heschel
Center for Environmental Learning and
Leadership in Tel Aviv, Israel. We are a
501(c)(3) organization, qualified to receive
tax deductible contributions under the
U.S. Internal Revenue Service code.

The olive tree shown on this page has
survived for well more than a thousand
years in the Judean Hills, and may date to
the time of the second Temple. Now
surrounded by the apple orchards of
Kibbutz Tzuba, its gnarled trunk and new
ring of bright, productive branches are a
powerful metaphor for the tenacity of the
peoples and the ecosystems of Eretz
Yisrael.

The Heschel Center is a unique
collaboration of academics and activists,
builders and biologists, elementary
principals and environmentalist politicians,
teachers, doctors, journalists and many
more who are committed to the
development of sustainable communities in
Israel. To learn more about the work of
the Heschel Center in Israel, please read
on, and then visit their site.

Comments and questions are welcome.
